• Over the past year we have seen mobile search queries in the U.S. increase 4 times over & this is only projected to continue increasing in the years to come. There are actually 3 times more smart phones being activated every minute around the world than there are babies are being born

  • Research has shown that web retailers could increase consumer engagement by 85% with a mobile specific website
  • Furthermore, 51% of consumers are more likely to purchase from retailers that have mobile specific websites

• Another important factor to consider is that consumers prefer mobile websites vs. mobile apps that they have to download to their phones.

  • 79% of mobile device users stated that they prefer mobile websites for reading & writing reviews
  • 58% prefer mobile websites as opposed to apps for watching videos
  • 81% prefer mobile websites for researching prices AND
  • 64% prefer mobile websites for learning about business features such as their address & contact info.

• So now that you know that you need to be thinking about creating a mobile optimized website, you?ll want to make sure to remember these 5 key factors

  • Keep it Simple- make it easy to read and navigate
  • Design for Thumbs, not fingertips - make sure that the navigation is easy to hit with your thumbs without clicking on the wrong page by accident
  • Prioritize your content - Make sure that your most valuable content & message is the first thing that the visitor will see
  • Take advantage of unique mobile features such as 'click to call' or display content based on the user's location AND
  • Make It as easy as possible for your mobile site visitor to take action & shorten the conversion process
